Tomorrow, Wednesday May 15th at 10/9c on ABC:

Jack devises a plan to do away with "The Others" once and for all, Sayid uncovers a flaw in "The Others'" system that could lead to everyone's rescue, and Charlie's dangerous task may make Desmond's premonition come true.

This episode is Charlie-centric, but sadly this may be the last of such episodes... In other words, (although I question whether the writers would make this so obvious), everything leads to the fact that Charlie will die:

1) The episode title, "Greatest Hits" refers to an album containing a band/artist's top songs, usually after a member(s) of the band or that artist dies. With Charlie being a member of the band Driveshaft, you can see the connection.
2) We already had an episode that teased us from the opening scene that Charlie would die, but he survived in the end. If he doesn't die in this episode, it will be as if we've seen it all before.
3) The "epitaph" in the episode description..."Charlie's dangerous task may make Desmond's premonition come true."

Honestly, Charlie's cool, but he might have lost our interest in his character. There's a good chance he's not coming back next season. To dodge having to give a definitive stance on this issue, I'll just say that we'll just have to wait and see...

In last week's episode, "The Man Behind the Curtain", Ben appears to be speaking to an empty chair, where Jacob should have been sitting. Locke is skeptical about the situation and has started to think Ben is crazy. You heard the "Help me" line and Jacob's wrath throughout his little hut, but perhaps you missed the screen flashing for a short second with the above image, which is likely of Jacob himself.

Why does Jacob only appear for a second? Why does he say "help me"?

The image we have of him leaves many possibilities. It's hard to tell whether he most closely resembles Alvar Hanso, Locke, or any other character one could make an argument for.

It's been reported that "Lost" will end in 2010.

Here's the breakdown of the structure for the following years:

Spring 2008 Feb. to May – 16 consecutive repeat-free episodes

Lindelof and Cuse seem pretty confident with this bold move. I especially like a few Lindelof quotes:

"...with the answer-filled season finale May 23, viewers 'will begin to get an idea of what that design will be, and it will not be at all what they expect.'"

"the last five minutes of (this month's) finale are going to seal our fate."

There are pros and cons, but overall this will end up being a good decision. If they revert to the 9:00 slot, "Lost" is set for the next three years.

Ben begrudgingly begins to introduce Locke to the secrets of the island, beginning with the mysterious Jacob.

Tv.com has a more satisfying description:

Ben unwillingly divulges information to Locke about the island, taking him on a journey to various locations including strange monuments and the mysterious Jacob. Back at the beach, Juliet's secret is revealed. Flashbacks will show us the origins of DHARMA and the history of the island, including 'the purge'.

I love the allusion in the title of this episode, likely referring plot-wise to Jacob. This isn't the first time "Lost" has given a nod to "The Wizard of Oz". If you recall, Ben called himself Henry Gale, a name he stole from a dead parachutist in the show, and a name the writers borrowed from the movie.

Also, the episode will be Ben-centric and Mikhail is supposed to have an appearance.

Lost: The Answers

"It's that time again. In anticipation of the Lost season finale, a special called Lost: The Answers is scheduled to air twice this month.

The special will be similar to Lost: Survivor Guide, a clip show that aired before the winter premiere. Executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will co-host the show, which will "recap the secrets that have been revealed, as well as those that remain unanswered."

The special will air on May 17th at 10PM ET and May 23 at 8PM ET on ABC.

Locke tries to persuade Sawyer to help rid them of a great nemesis, and the survivors learn some shocking information about Oceanic Flight 815.

I wonder what exactly was meant by Naomi's testament: ''Flight 815? The one from Sydney? That's not possible....They found the plane. There were no survivors. They were all dead.''

Could the Others have created some sort of decoy crash? This seems far-fetched, but with money and connections, they could have faked it or had a false news story leaked. It wouldn't be as hard to stage if "all the bodies and most of the plane were destroyed by fire."

Of course, the thrilling far-out sci-fi twist would be to have the outside world exist in a different future, one where the people on Flight 815 didn't survive...This becomes very confusing when you consider it.

Some of TV's biggest shows ("House," "Lost") and some of its smallest ("The Office," "Friday Night Lights") are benefiting significantly from the impact of digital video recorders, according to data released Wednesday by Nielsen Media Research.

"Lost" adds 2.5 million DVR users to its 10.8 million viewers who watch it at the normal time.

Should "Lost" fans be worried? No. Personally, I don't think "Lost" ever lost its quality...(Ofcourse I'd say that, I own a "Lost" blog) The change to the 10:00 timeslot may have been a bad decision, but in the this day and age, viewers have no problem adapting to it with DVRS and iTunes downloads. In reality, it all evens out, and everyone's watching "Lost" one way or another.

"Lost", the Video Game

Only a few months ago, Ubisoft signed the license to create games based off the popular Lost television series.

For months, hardly any new info on this upcoming franchise was available till now. LOST producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed that Ubisoft Montreal is indeed working on X360, PS3 and PC versions of the game.

The title hasn't been announced yet and it's due out in 2008. I hope they can pull off something cool, instead of adhering to the usually mediocre quality of movie/tv show-based video games.

Biblical Names

The oft-mentioned Jacob isn't the only person on "Lost" with a name borrowed from the Old Testament. Here's a list of people I can think of that have a "Biblical" name:

1. Benjamin Linus - Benjamin is the youngest son of Jacob in the Bible
2. Aaron Littleton (Claire's baby) - Aaron is the brother of Moses
3. Jack/Christian Shepherd - Jacob is a shepherd in the bible, (among other prominent characters). Also, Christian could be a reference to Christianity.
4. Isaac of Uluru (healer from flashback in season 2)- Isaac is the son of Abraham and the father of Jacob.
5. Dave (Hurley's imaginary friend) - King David
6. "Adam and Eve" (skeletal remains found in season that are given this nickname) - Adam and Eve are the first man and woman created by God in the Bible.
7. Rachel Burke (Juliet's sister) - Rachel is Jacob's wife.
8. Rachel Blake (daughter of Alvar Hanso, protagonist of The Lost Experience) - idem.

With this in mind, maybe the true identity of Jacob can be revealed through a Biblical clue:

1) Jacob is Isaac of Uluru or his son.
2) Jacob is Rachel Burke's husband.
3) Jacob is Christian Shepherd.
4) Jacob is Ben's father.

Moreover...
1) In the Bible, Jacob's wife Rachel, died while giving birth to Benjamin. — Women who have become pregnant on the island have died.

Claire and Jack

With Juliet hanging out with the plane crash survivors, there's the possibility for a number of mysteries to be revealed. However, one thing that I could see happening is her informing Jack and Claire that they are siblings. I hope the writers can tie that into the plot cleverly.

How do the Others leave the island?

Let's look at the facts:

1. The Others have food and it must be replenished. In Ben's refrigerator, this food has the DHARMA label.
2. The Swan was associated with a food drop and at one point, the survivors found a food drop. There was also food in the hatch itself.
3. In "One of Us", Ben has Richard Alpert show Juliet's sister on a television screen in the Flame Hatch. Richard must have gone there very quickly and he is told to return as soon as possible. However, when Ben speaks to Alpert, his reply cannot be heard.
4. Juliet was drugged before being taken to the island. She wakes up in a submarine.
5. Juliet and Jack are told they can leave the island if they comply with the Others, and they will leave via the submarine.
6. Ben says that his people are free to leave the island but they always stay. The submarine gives them the choice. Ben says its destruction could cause problems for him.
7. Aircraft have crashed on the island (Oceanic Flight 815, which crashed thanks to Desmond, Beechcraft, Henry Gale's balloon).

These are just a few things that should be considered. Please tell me if something isn't accurate.

My theory:

The submarine is a decoy like the beards, the "station" that Sayid and co. found, etc. Ben uses it so the Others will believe that they can leave the island. Perhaps, it actually transports people to nearby island, where planes can come and go. By drugging Juliet, she misses this part of the trip and is led to believe that the submarine goes the entire length to and from the island. Also, the Others receive food via a DHARMA food drop of some sort. Alpert and Ethan would use the submarine to go to a nearby island to go on a plane. This is how they could transport supplies and bring people.

One of Us

Episode 3:16 "One of Us" airs at 10/9c on ABC.

Jack's joyous reunion with his fellow survivors is cut short when they realize that accompanying him is one of "The Others."

This episode will be Juliet-centric with island flashbacks, and its title, "One of Us", references the season two episode called "One of Them".

Sayid: "I want to know everything."
Juliet: "If I told you everything I know, you'd kill me."
Sayid: "What you think I'll do if you don't?"

I hope Sayid can get some answers out of her. With a Juliet island flashback, this episode has the potential to answer questions. And hopefully Juliet's true motives will be revealed. Was she left behind as a mole in the Losties' camp? With Ethan dead, and Ben no longer there, maybe the Others need a new spy at the beach for some unknown purpose. And where did the Others go? Why did they just pick up their bags and gas masks and head on out? I hope the survivors decide to take over Othersville.

What was the purpose of Hurley's movement to coax Sawyer to become the "leader" if it seems that Jack will retake that position?

Ben tries to persuade a determined Locke to call off his destructive plan by offering him some of the secrets of the island, and Kate's reunion with Jack does not go off as planned when she discovers that he has made a deal with "The Others."

I think there's a few key phrases in this description:

secrets of the island - "Lost" is not very good at answering questions...but we shall see.

a deal with "The Others." - Hmmmm...this sounds interesting. I think the question on everyone's mind last week when they saw Jack playing football with Tom was "Whaaaaaaaaat?".

Hopefully, we'll see a better Locke, who was starting to lose his status as one of my favorite characters. Also, the previews at the end of last week's episode hinted that we would learn why Locke was in a wheelchair. But, you should never trust the previews to be right.

Locke, Sayid and Kate investigate a strange structure and its mysterious inhabitant.

I prefer TV.com's a tad more however:

On their mission to rescue Jack, Kate, Sayid, and Locke stumble upon a mysterious structure surrounded by farm animals and meet its strange inhabitant. Back at the camp, in order to reclaim his belongings, Sawyer plays in a a ping-pong competition.

Rob McElhenney gets "Lost

Rob McElhenney, St. Joseph's Prep grad (Go Prep!) and star/creator of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is about to get "Lost". McElhenney met two "Lost" writers at a dinner party. They happen to be fans of his FX series, and he himself is a "Lost fan. The writers allowed him to tour their offices and play an Other in the first episode back from hiatus on February 7th.

Stephen King writes about how he would finish Lost:

Although King's theory seems plausible (actually it makes no sense at all and doesn't account for many things, I won't get into it), I like this fan's theory better:

Lost gets new time, Day Break cancelled

Lost will back away from its spring adversary, American Idol. Look for new episodes of Lost in February at 10:00 PM.

Also, Day Break, which took Lost's timeslot during its absense, has been cancelled. The show was ranked 99th. Remaining episodes may be available on ABC's website for the show's 4 million viewers.

Eko's time has come

The cloud of black smoke that likes to eat people has finished off our "talie" friend, Mr. Eko. Eko, the pseudo-priest, Jesus stick tough guy, has went through some tough situtations, as we have seen in his past. He's been through hard decisions between right and wrong (kills some dudes), attempts to carry on his brother's life, and gets his share of hardship on the island as well (whacking a couple of Others, not talking for awhile, getting blown up in a "hatch", fighting a huge cloudmonster, I'd say that's pretty intensive). In the end, he gives in to the monster, perhaps in acceptance.

The new duo on the cast, Paulo and Nikki, don't seem very interesting initially. Hopefully this will not be the case next week, but if so, the monster can artz them.

1. There is a special Stephen King reference hidden in Every Man for Himself (they didn't say but my money is on the bunny).
2. As for implications of the second island, they said only that escape would not be as easy as originally thought.
3. In the Glass Ballerina, Jae did commit suicide. They said the mystery surrounding Jae's death was unintentional.
4. They mentioned Sawyer's daughter Clementine but said nothing definitive about her.
5. There are two major outcomes of Colleen's death: the x-ray picture that Jack noticed and that Pickett, Colleen's husband, might seek some vengeance.
6. Cost of Living is an Eko story and someone significant will die.
7. They plan to do the break in the middle of the season thing next year as well.
8. The polar bears escaped during the collapse of Dharma like the lions at the Baghdad zoo that escaped during the fall of Baghdad.
9. The bears have eaten 20 people so far (said in a we might be joking but you don't know type of way)
10. No, Ben is not "evil because the polar bear stole his toy truck when he was little."
11. As the hatch began to implode a vacuum was created which heated the particles of air and created a subsequent explosion.
12. Charlie was not directly involved in the explosion.
13. Eko will not wake up blind.
14. Yes, Kate does love Sawyer.
15. There is a good possibility of discovering a gay character on the show. 4 to 1 odds.
16. They are currently writing episode 10, which will be a Hurley flashback.
17. When characters don't know who died, Scott or Steve, it is just an extension of the same old gag. There is no large significance to the Scott/Steve thing.
18. The turbine man from the pilot was Gary Troupe, the author of Bad Twin.
19. Paulo and Nikki will be in episode 3.05.
20. The show will eventually answer the question of what all the other survivors are doing while Jack and company are going off on their adventures. It would "make a good episode."

ABC had Lost episodes air throughout the season last year, but with many repeats between them. Kudos to them for ending the problem by having two blocks of consecutive episodes (but what will we do until it returns?).

"A Tale of Two Cities": Initial thoughts

Post-episode rough outline of my ideas and the little things I noticed...

1. Henry Gale's name is Ben. In the first few minutes, Juliet refers to him as Ben. His name is revealed again when they are talking at the end of the episode.

2. There's an underwater hatch called Hydra, originally for dolphins and sharks (possibly the DHARMA shark from "Adrift").

3. It seems like Juliet and Ben had broken up.
-Juliet is teary-eyed in the opening shot.
-She doesn't think Ben will like the book in the book club.
-The final scene is a little awkward.
-In reply to Jack's threat to kill Juliet, Ben says "Okay."

4. Polar bears were most likely kept in Sawyer's cage in the past.

5. Like the survivors, The Others have their own little "city", hence the title. (I hope I got this metaphor right.)

6. The Others anticipated the plane crash, and had some sort of plan to spy on the survivors. We know that they got the list of names from Ethan and Goodwin.

7. From Juliet's knowledge and since the Others already knew the names of Hurley, Kate etc., it seems that they could have information about all of the survivors besides Jack.

8. An unknown person (called Carl) tries to help Sawyer escape with him, and is forced to apologize to him after they were recaptured. Here's an idea: Walt appears much older in the boat from the last finale. Maybe the boy is one of the children they captured in the Tail Section, now older, depending on what they did to him.

9. The underwater hatch must be near where Sawyer and Kate are because Juliet can get between them very quickly. (Assuming that the scenes took place at the same time)

10. A lot of other stuff...

11. We still have no idea what's going on.

How it ranks against previous premieres

"Pilot: Part One" - 9.8
"Man of Science, Man of Faith" - 9.5
"A Tale of Two Cities" - 9.5

Nothing can compare to the first episode. It got me hooked on the show, so I give it a just reward. "Man of Science, Man of Faith"'s first thirty seconds are so amazing that it completes the last season and lays ground for the episodes of Season Two. "A Tale of Two Cities" also has a "whoa" opening, and an interesting episode. Like the last premiere, it's a bit confusing and leaves a lot of questions. However, I think it kicks off Season Three by introducing the main topic...The Others.

Since the start of The Lost Experience, fans have been searching everywhere for clues. Scanning websites, typing codes, and eating Apollo Candy bars. To those dedicated fans who have worked toward completing the following video and to YouTube, I thank you.

Finally, The Lost Experience has paid off. The video below may reveal clues and spoilers about "Lost", so I am warning you before you watch this. I have no doubt, however, that at least the important parts in the film will be revealed/shown on "Lost", probably early season three. Although slightly spoilerish, I don't believe this will ruin your viewing experience.

It's a little confusing, cryptic, surprising, weird, and it will leave you thinking. I think I'm gonna have to watch it again.

We've heard the story. Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros fought the law and "Lost" kicked them off the show. Although they claim that they originally intended to have their characters die, it was rather coincidental. Now, Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Eko) was pulled over early in the morning for disobeying a cop and driving without license.

Will Eko leave the show like the other two?

Lost - Off The Island

Today I came across a Bamferproductions.com. Apparently, they have been working on a fan-made film called "Lost - Off the Island".

The movie is about Chase Jackson, a private investigator searching for his brother Scott Jackson, who has disappeared on Oceanic Flight 815.

There's probably a bunch of people out there making "Lost" fan movies and writing "Lost" fan-fiction, but this looks like it has potential. Just look at the set pictures on their production journal and see for yourself. It looks really cool!

The deluxe edition comes in a replica silver Zero Halliburton briefcase (similar to the one that Kate and Sawyer found while swimming near the waterfall) emblazoned with the Lost logo. It's not yet clear where the deluxe edition will be sold.source

Ofcourse there's also a regular version that comes inside a tin case.

Over the course of time, Lost fans seem to have a need to create websites that appear to give clues to the show, as The Lost Experience sites do. Sorting out the official from the unofficial is sometimes rather tough.

It has been many days since my last post. Here's what happened: I upgraded my blog to Blogger Beta, resulting in an unfortunate series of problems. For a day or two, my blog was "in-migration" and you couldn't access it. I recieved a "congratulations" email, even though it didn't work. A few days after, my blog was visible. Great, but I couldn't edit it. I sent an email to Blogger. I sent another. I sent five emails in the last seven days. Finally, I got a nice reply that said they have reverted me back to original Blogger.

I'm really sorry I couldn't post for the last week. Don't thank me, thank Blogger Beta.

Anyway, I'm just glad to be back and blogging again.

Apollo Candy Bars

Yet another dimension is added to the television game that has extended to the internet, commercials, and your telephone. Apollocandy.com gives you information about the candy bar seen in the hatch, as I have mentioned before. There's more, however. You can actually obtain a free bar and eat it!

On certain dates, starting today, you can get a free candy bar in various cities throughout the U.S.A. and the U.K. Go to the site for more information.

I would assume the candy bar might hold some sort of clue. (So don't eat it right away, it could be part of the candy itself!)

The Lost Fan Blog has a completely new design!!! The template is based on Andreas02. Special thanks go out to Geckoandfly.com for their free Blogger templates.

The design is not completely finished yet, but here's a few nice features it has so far:

The top of the page is completely different, with tabs for browsing important pages. There's still work to be done on the large tabs and the smaller tabs.

:One Sidebar:

Some may see this as a pro, some as a con. Instead of two sidebars, I've decided to rather focus on important sidebar info rather alot of it in two sidebars. It's a bit easier this way because there's no question as to which side something may be on.

:Categories:

This page informed me that there was an answer to an old problem that sooner or later Blogger users are troubled by. Why can't I make categories? Well, thanks to this page, I now can. Each new post will now say which category it is in. In the sidebar, there will be a Category section where you can choose posts to read from various categories. Right now, you probably see only one or two, but soon they'll be a lot more.

Where did your Fan Jargon, Reality Check, Characters, etc. pages go?

Like I said before, I'm not done with the design. They'll be available when I'm finished.

The bad news: There will be a 13-week gap between the show's first run of episodes in the fall and the unbroken 15- or 16-episode string to close the 2006-07 season. Read all...

The makers of "Lost" want to end the hit TV show after a maximum of five years and are planning a feature-length movie spin-off.

Co-creator Damon Lindelof is so worried producers and studio executives will drag the show out he is making his opinion on the matter clear now.

Speaking with entertainment news wire service PR Inside, he says "We'd love to end the show after four year, five years tops and do a movie".

At that rate it would put a film in cinemas in 2009 or 2010.

Holloway at Gunpoint, Robber Indicted

Last year on October 12, Josh Hollaway and his wife were held at gunpoint while their home was robbed. This year, the man responsible, Ruben E. Royce, was indicted.

The indictment accuses the intruder of this crime, in addition to four others at different homes. The bail is set at 1 million dollars.

"We look forward to the evidence that the state will produce," states Deputy Public Defender, Theresa Marshall. She says that her client will plead innocent.

Charlie and Knightsbridge

After leaving prison, Desmond talks to Charles Widmore. Desmond finds out that Widmore has kept the letters he sent to Penelope from prison. The letters are addressed to Knightsbridge, where Lucy Heatherton lives. Lucy Heatherton was the girl that Charlie conned in Season 1.

We've Seen Kelvin Before!

In "Live Together, Die Alone" we met the figure on the left, Kelvin Inman. (Kelvin was living with Desmond, who later murdered him.) But this isn't the first time we've met Kelvin. He is the same person as Joe Inman, from Sayid's flashbacks. J.I. was the CIA Operative who taught Sayid to torture during the Gulf War. Apparently, J.I. joined the DHARMA Initiative afterwards. He was assigned to the Swan Station with "Radzinsky". Why Joe Inman was later known as Kelvin Inman is uncertain.

It is possible that they could be identical twins; however, that is unlikely because Kelvin mentioned that he was once in a war.
